Q&A

How is the customer's age verified for alcohol orders?

There is a two-step process for age verification when an order is placed with DoorDash that contains alcohol.

  1. To check out: DoorDash offers a one-time process to check the customer's age when ordering alcohol. Provided they are of legal drinking age, after they upload a photo of their ID, they'll be able to check out and complete their order.
  2. To receive their order: Dashers will do a physical examination of the recipient’s ID and will also scan the front of that ID to run a variety of compliance checks. Provided these checks are successful, the customer will receive their alcohol order.
