Changing your database connection on Card Defender (RMS)

Overview

    If you are using Card Defender for RMS and you are changing your database server reconfiguring Card Defender to connect to your new database server is simple.


Procedure

Here are the steps needed:


1.  Open the shortcut on your desktop called "RITE Electronic Payments" or use the same shortcut from your start menu.
2.  The software will ask you to log in - instead of logging in, click the "Database Connection" button as shown below.

3.  Update the connection settings the same way you did with your RMS system.  Test the connection.

Once done restart RMS POS and do a test transaction.  Done!


If you're using auto batching you MAY need to reconfigure the database connection settings on the machine where auto batching was configured (often on your database server).  Please contact RITE for assistance.


Special Note: Sales of Card Defender for Microsoft RMS have ended unless you are a beer, wine, or liquor store who is planning on moving to the Cloud Retailer point of sale software in the near future.
