Overview
You can do some basic things if you have issues processing credit cards with Card Defender. Try the steps below, one at a time, and see if it fixes your issue.
Procedure
- Exit out of the POS software and reopen.
- Check the physical wire connections. Make sure that the power and ethernet cords are properly seated. Unplug and plug them back in if needed.
- Power-cycle the credit card terminal—This will involve pulling the power cable from the back of the terminal or from the outlet for some older versions. Leave it powered off for around 15 seconds before powering it back on.
- Reboot the computer.
Note: If you are using RMS, restarting the database pos/computer will prevent the other registers at the store from taking sales. - Call our support line if the problem persists - 3202302282.
