Overview

This article explains how long a user account will remain logged in. The times listed are for periods of inactivity, meaning, if a user refreshes or interacts with a page, then the time resets.


Back Office (Web portion of Cloud Retailer)

If a user checks the "Remember Me" flag when logging in, then they will be logged out after 14 days of inactivity.
If a user does not check the "Remember Me" flag, then they will be logged out after 60 minutes of inactivity.

Any user that has multi-factor authentication enabled will be required to provide the passcode each time they log into the back office. Again, these times will reset if the user interacts with or resets the webpage.


Point of Sale (Cloud Retailer Desktop App)

By default, a user will never be logged out of the POS. You may enable auto-logout after "X" seconds and/or after each transaction if you'd like. Multi-factor authentication does not apply to the POS.

To enable auto-logout after "X" seconds:
1. Go to your back office, then go to Admin--> "Device / register list" and select the register you want to enable auto-log out on.
2. Find the setting called "POS Auto Logout In Seconds" and enter the number of seconds. (Ex. 5 minutes would be 300 seconds)
3. Click "Save"

4. Sync and restart your register

To enable auto-logout after every transaction:
1. Go to your back office, then go to Admin--> "Device / register list" and select the register you want to enable auto-log out on.
2. Find the setting called "Logout After Each Transaction" and turn it on/enabled
3. Click "Save"
