Overview
Starting in Cloud Retailer version 2.10.7, we have added a new feature for Quantity to Order Forecasting.
Procedure
The Forecast QTO tool can be found from the Report Menu by typing 'Forecast QTO' into the search pop-out.
Once you have navigated to the page, you will find a screen similar to this:
To complete QTO Forecast for a Single Product;
- Select the location to Forecast.
- Do not select a query filter from the dropdown
- Set the desired Lookback period for Average Sales.
- Set the desired Multiplier. Numbers greater than 1 will increase QTO, while fractions less than 1 will lower QTO. For example, to decrease your QTO by 50% of average sales set the multiplier to .5
- Provide the Product code of the product you wish to forecast
- Click Go
To complete QTO Forecast for a group of Products;
- Select the location to Forecast.
- Select a query filter from the dropdown. If you do not see any query filters, follow the steps in the next section to create one.
- Set the desired Lookback period for Average Sales.
- Set the desired Multiplier. Numbers greater than 1 will increase QTO, while fractions less than 1 will lower QTO. For example, to decrease your QTO by 50% of average sales set the multiplier to .5
- Click Go
- Navigate to the query filter creation page. You can do this from the QTO forecaster by clicking the link, OR you can go to the Admin > Query Filters popout.
- Update the name of the query filter to reflect the Department or Category of products you will be defining (ie, Wine)
- Select the desired filters (ie - Department equals Wine)
- Click the Orange Magnifier and review the product search results.
- Once you're happy with the result set, press Save to save the query filter.
- Return to the QTO Forecaster and reload the page to refresh the list of filters.
We have prepared a video demonstrating the QTO Forecast tool. You can view it here;
Note that Cloud Retailer also offers Supplier Purchase Planning which allows you to create Purchase Orders based on minimum stock levels or sales activity over a set time frame. Check out this video specific to Supplier Purchase Planning:
