This article will explain the basic process of how to process a Gift card as a donation or free of cost.

Here are the instructions:

• Step 1: Create the item "Gift Card Donation" 
• Step 2: Process the Gift Card Donation in the POS

Step 1: Create the item " Gift Card Donation"

• Open BO
• Go to Product Catalog | Create a new product
• Make sure it is a non-inventory item
  
  

Step 2: Process the Gift Card Donation in the POS 

• Login to CR POS
• Enter the Gift Card and amount to be given as a donation (ex. $100)
• Enter the Gift Card Donation item and put a negative sign on quantity (this signifies a return value on the GC) and enter the corresponding amount (see example below)

• Complete the transaction.
